Finally! Here I am, 36,000 feet above the ground, writing this blog. As I head towards Nashville, TN for the Jenzabar Annual Conference, I wanted this two-hour long journey to be a meaningful one. So, ladies and gentleman fasten your seatbelt, we are about to take off! ✈️
First thing first, why do I want to write a blog?
“What I cannot create, I do not understand.” - Richard Feynman
True are those words of Feynman, I strongly feel that if I cannot create something, and make that thing understandable to others then I clearly did not understand the concept. My github profile will serve as the creation of concepts, and this blog will be an attempt to make readers understand those concepts.
What creations and concepts am I talking about?
Well, for the most part, I am going to cover inner workings of Machine Learning Models and Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, I will also write about the research papers regarding ML/AI as I read them. Essentially, this blog will be my endeavor at understanding Machine Learning; and hopefully, in the process, readers of this blog can take advantage, and point out flaws of my ML/AI knowledge. Both ways, we learn!
But why are you interested in Artificial Intelligence, particularly Machine Learning?
"AI is the new electricity" - Andrew Ng
In his own word, "about a century ago, we started to electrify the world through the electrical revolution. By replacing steam-powered machines with those using electricity, we transformed transportation, manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare and so on. Now, AI is poised to start an equally large transformation on many industries." Extending his thoughts, our lives have been transformed by computers. And, I shudder to think the future where our computers are not powered by AI. AI will give the machine the brain to think in par with humans. However, contrary to popular culture, it will not destroy us. It will only enhance our lives so that we can put our effort and energy into something more meaningful and creative. My interest in AI is fueled by this motivation.
Solving general intelligence is going to be an ultimate test of human intelligence. I just want to be a small part of this noble endeavor. If you have any questions or suggestions, please shoot me an email, or reach me through twitter and linkdin. And, welcome aboard!
